Greetings everyone, I welcome you to the new Aaron Lodge Trestle Board. I hope you enjoy it. Remember, this is your publication too. Your input and submissions are important to us and will be appreciated. Not sure who to share your ideas with? Contact any of the officers at one of our regular meetings or by phone and we will get you pointed in the right direction.

The semi-annual Star Party was great, although we certainly would have enjoyed the company of more attendees. I would like to extend very sincere thanks from the entire lodge to Larry Behers for his contribution of time, knowledge and high quality telescopes. We are quite fortunate in Aaron Lodge to have a skilled astronomer who is willing to share these resources with his brethren. There will be another party sometime in the fall so watch for the announcement. Bring your family and friends out for truly enlightening experience. After all, we are “induced to encourage the study of astronomy.”  If you would care to help with the BBQ portion of the event, get in touch with Brian Johnson PM. Brian is the man personally responsible for the excellent food we enjoy at Aaron.

The lodge has a busy time ahead with degree work and should have something every Wednesday evening until we go dark and well into September.  Speaking of going dark, it has been suggested that we meet for food and fellowship a couple of times over the summer. Our regular stated meeting night seems logical for this, but a Saturday in the park might also be fun. Visitation to the year round lodges was another great idea I heard mentioned.  Let’s make a point to discuss these over the next few times we get together. Dates and times will be posted on the website as we get them.

We recently had an impromptu formation of a new health and welfare committee by our Junior Warden, Brother John Johnson. If you know of a member who is ill, injured or has other misfortune please contact Bro. John at 520-325-0317.

Again, I hope you like the new format for our Trestle Board and look forward to seeing everyone on Wednesday evenings.

Brent Banwell, Worshipful Master

Aaron Lodge No. 49

                                                      IN THE WEST

Hello Brothers. One of my duties in Aaron Lodge is to assist the Worshipful Master in opening and closing his lodge. I believe the most difficult part of this duty is the coordination of the degree team when it comes time to initiate, pass and raise our candidates. One reason for this is that we have parts of our ritual that only one or two brothers are familiar with. This can cause conflict and strain when one of those men is absent. Learning a lecture or a charge is a wonderful way to become intimate with the messages it contains and you may likely discover something profound that previously went unnoticed when you were only hearing it. There is also great personal reward in sharing it not only with candidates, but the men who are already in your lodge. A new delivery can be very refreshing. I intend to learn one of the charges or another lecture before the first of the year and invite everyone to do the same. We all received our degrees from men who were committed to us when we desired to be brought into their folds. It would be fair and responsible of us to commit ourselves in a similar fashion. We are in particular need of all three charges and the first and third degree lectures. If you are in the progressive line you will be required to know a lecture anyway, so why not share it with your brothers sooner than later. If you are not in the line, but would like something to do, please see me about parts in the third degree. There is plenty of work coming up; together we can perform to the high standards every candidate deserves.
